I wasn’t sure if I should release this video because I really don’t want to offend anybody, but I’ve decided to share stuff that’s been truly helpful for me, even if that means losing some popularity points.

I hope you receive this message in the way I intend to deliver it: humorously and from the heart.

So, here goes:

My big brother is one of the most understanding and compassionate people in my life. He has always held me to the highest standards, so he doesn’t let me get away with being a jackass.

As a little boy, I was tough and smart and loudly sang along with every song from the Broadway musical A Chorus Line. But as you might expect from a little boy belting out Broadway tunes, I was sometimes a little dramatic — and bratty.

One day, I did something really cowardly.

I can’t remember exactly what it was, but I’ll never forget my brother’s choice response.

Even though his words may seem “un-spiritual” or even misogynistic to some people, they are a big part of my value system today. They serve as a blunt prompt to help me become the person that the Universe would have me be.

There’s some adult language in this video, so throw on some headphones if you’ve got kids around.

I hope this message inspires you to speak up with deeper conviction, so that you might become the powerful, courageous lighthouse you were sent here to be.

With all my love,

PS: You gotta watch this actor’s incredible audition for a role in the Broadway reboot of A Chorus Line. Needless to say, he got the job. Months later, I was watching from the audience — singing along with him.
